[Picture of rain]

Welcome to my personal web page, which has been online in one form or another (and at one place or another) since January 1996.

I started using the Internet before there was a Facebook, before there was even a Google; at a time when Amazon was just a piranha-filled river in Brazil, Yahoo! had no ads or even any images, and the browser, when used at all, was Mosaic. (Many didn’t, preferring text-based services such as anonymous FTP and Gopher.)

Linux was also up and coming. In 1994 I tied up my college’s blazing fast 56K Internet connection for weeks downloading Slackware onto about 50 floppy disks. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out how to install it. It took me a couple of months to figure out what to do with it.

Since college, I have done a lot of coding, system administration of Linux and BSD systems, and network administration in both the Internet industry and the market research industry. I currently work in Mountain View, California as a Site Reliability Engineer for Google.

Don’t Panic!
